Network Marketing Tip
If there is one Network Marketing Tip that I can give anyone, it is this. To be successful with the business, you must use the internet and all that it has to offer as much as possible.
There are some network marketing purists that will disagree with this statement.
Many companies still teach new marketers that you have to make a list of people you know to start your business. You're taught to contact those people and ask them for a meeting for a product demonstration or to show them a business presentation. After the meeting, you ask them to become a customer or a business partner. The main source of income was the number of representatives you had in your downline.
When the warm market dries up, you have to find other ways to get people to look at your business presentation. That meant talking to people within an arm's reach. Like in a waiting room while your car gets an oil change. Or the grocery store. Or the dentist's office.
I heard a story once about a company representative who said he signed up an oral hygienist just by listening to her financial problems while his teeth were being cleaned. The point of the story was that you had to listen to your prospects so you can solve their problems. He had no choice but to listen because his mouth was wide open.
The internet has changed this whole approach. You can have people by the thousands coming to your website to look at a video presentation of your business. You don't have to talk to them until after they submit their name and email address requesting more information. An autoresponder can give them follow up information to see if they are really interested in the business or not.
Or, if they submitted a phone number, you can call this person to answer their questions.
The industry has progressed to the point where an introvert can now be successful in network marketing.
This is not to say that working the business on the internet is easy. It's not. It takes some time and effort to get thousands of people to visit you.
Also, don't abandon your other prospecting methods of doing network marketing -- unless you're making too much money. It's better to tell family and friends about your business after you have seen some success first.
Many successful network marketers are working their businesses online in a variety of different ways. Besides the social network sites like Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, Flicker and a host of others -- you have twitter that reaches people everywhere at any time and any place. You can talk to people in forums, chat rooms and blogs.
Just don't spam anyone along the way. The worst thing you can do for your business is send a bunch of unwanted emails and messages to people. Being a spammer will damage your reputation more than it will help it.
The key to getting people to visit you and keep coming back is by giving them useful information and not hitting them with a sales pitch all the time. That can be done with your own website.

Here are the comparisons from the older and newer methods of doing network marketing.
older
-pester family and friends.
-show business plan in person.
-rely on brochures and your sales pitch about the company.
-fill out forms and applications and send them through the mail.
newer
-people come to you to become customers and representatives.
-see a business presentation and know something about the business before you talk to them for the first time.
-can do better research on internet instead of relying on your info about the company.
-customers and representatives can sign up online and receive products and services sooner.
People can refer back to your website and not feel pressured by all your calls. You'll still get some rejection along the way. However, it's better to get it from someone you don't know as opposed to a close friend or relative.

Working on the internet is the most important network marketing tip I have for you. There are others that I think are worth mentioning here.
1. Do as much article marketing as you can. Article marketing is a great way to get the word out about your business without spending a lot of money on it, especially if you like to write.
2. Get a website of your own, so you can attract people through FREE internet searches from Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask. Doing this was the best way to attract hundreds and eventually thousands of people daily to my business. (you need to keep your company website)
3. When you have a little bit of money to spend, look into promoting your business through pay-per-click and e-zine advertising. These are two effective ways to reach your target audience.
I'm sure there are people who are doing the business the old fashioned way and making their lists. However, the business is much better to do when you have people giving you a click.

I'm sure there are people who are doing the business the old fashioned way and finding a lot of success. A person who is determined to succeed will find a way.
However, the business is much more fun to do when you have people giving you a click. You can be seen as a honest business professional instead of someone trying to push a pyramid scheme. Any business is better when people come to you instead of you chasing them.
